Win a Free Stay – #wincavalieridelmare Photo Contest

1. Contest Duration

The contest runs from June 1, 2025 at 00:00 (CEST) to August 1, 2025 at 23:59 (CEST). Submissions received outside this period will not be eligible.

2. Eligibility

The contest is open to all guests who stay at Hotel Cavalieri del Mare during the contest period.
Participants under 18 may enter and submit a photo, but the prize must be redeemed by a guest aged 18 or older (e.g., a parent, legal guardian, or adult traveling companion). 

3. How to Enter

To enter the contest, participants must:

  • Take a photo during their stay at Hotel Cavalieri del Mare.
  • Post the photo on Instagram as a collaborative post with @cavalieridelmarehotel
  • Use the official contest hashtag: #wincavalieridelmare

Only photos meeting all three criteria will be eligible to win. 

4. Selection of Winner

The winning photo will be the one that receives the highest number of Instagram likes by the contest deadline. Only public visible likes will be counted. Fraudulent votes (e.g., bot activity) will be removed at the organizer’s discretion.
The winner will be officially announced on our Instagram and Facebook pages on August 15, 2025.

5. The Prize

  • 🏆 2-night stay for 2 people in a Double Standard Room, including breakfast.
  • 📆 The stay can be redeemed only in the following periods:
    • 31 August – 13 September 2025
    • 2 – 14 June 2026
    • 30 August – 12 September 2026
  • Room upgrades are possible depending on availability and may incur a supplement fee.
  • The prize is transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other services.
  • Reservations are subject to availability. Reservations for 2026 must be made at least 30 days in advance of intended stay.

6. Rights & Usage of Submitted Content

By participating in the contest and tagging your post/story with #wincavalieridelmare, you grant Hotel Cavalieri del Mare:

  • The right to reuse, publish, and adapt your photo(s) for commercial and promotional use across any media format, online or offline.
  • Unlimited, non-exclusive, royalty-free use of the content with no additional compensation.

You retain ownership of your photo and may continue to use it for personal or non-commercial purposes. 

7. Data Protection & GDPR Compliance

a) Data Collected

By entering, participants agree to the collection of the following personal data:

  • Name and email address (via submission or newsletter form)
  • Social media username or handle
  • Uploaded photo(s) and associated metadata

b) Purpose of Processing

This data is collected and processed solely for:

  • Administering the contest
  • Displaying photos on the website gallery
  • Contacting the winner
  • Promoting the hotel through user-submitted content
  • Optional newsletter communication

c) Legal Basis

Data processing is based on the participant’s explicit consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR, given by tagging @cavalieridelmarehotel and using the hashtag #wincavalieridelmare.

e) Data Retention

Personal data (such as name, email, and contact details) will be retained for a maximum of 12 months after the contest ends, unless the participant has explicitly consented to receive ongoing marketing communications.
Submitted photos may be retained and reused indefinitely by Hotel Cavalieri del Mare for commercial and promotional purposes.

f) Participant Rights

Under GDPR, participants have the right to:

  • Access their personal data
  • Request rectification or deletion
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a Data Protection Authority (DPA)

8. Limitation of Liability

Hotel Cavalieri del Mare is not responsible for:

  • Technical errors or social media outages
  • Invalid or disqualified entries due to non-compliance
  • Any travel costs or expenses related to prize redemption

9. Acceptance of Terms

By entering the contest, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions and to the processing of their personal data in line with the hotel’s Privacy Policy and GDPR regulations.
